"Huh, I thought I cooked last night." He frowns, but his eyes are laughing.

"Sure - lobster?"

"Did you?" Innocent~ Darren grinned. "Sounds good."

"Hmmmm... maybe I'm getting forgetful in my old age." He teases back and hefts himself off the couch.

"Whoof, alright, I'd best get started - who else is coming home for dinner?"

"You are getting up there," he smirked playfully. He drained his cup and stood, walking after.

"The Twins of course, and Ron."

"Am I older than you? I forget!" He laughs over his shoulder.

"Alright, so five... any of the others tonight? It's been quiet, so I expect things are... well. Relatively peaceful. Misty?"

"Are you?" Oh so innocent. Darren washed the two tea cups and the pot he'd used, then set them drying.

"Hm...Misty might show up. I don't expect the others, though it would be easy enough to make enough for all."

"Eh, time's hard to measure without Moon and Sun, let's assume we're about the same age and run with that."

He rifles through the larder and fridge to find the things they need.

"I'll make lobster pasta then, that way we'll have leftover, and if anyone drops by there'll be extra. Unless Alex comes by, in which case I might need to make more!"

He grinned. "So we're both ancient."

Darren leaned a hip against the counter, arms folding across his chest as he watched Loren work. He didn't mind keeping his friend company. He smirked. "Well, we'll just have to see if he drops by to eat all our food!"

"Doddering old fools" He agrees cheerfully.

"Can you pass me that bowl and start shelling peas?"

He snorts in amusement. "At least we know that whatever else has gone on, he's still got a good appetite. I suppose we have Ron to thank for that."

"I still want a cane to shake at the kiddles to get off the lawn."

He fetched the bowl, handing it over, then got to work on the peas without complaint. "Praise be for small mercies!"

"I will tell the twins that." he threatens merrily. "And you will regret it!"

They work side by side, quick and efficient.

"Mm, I hate to think what he who be like if Ron hadn't had a hand in his training."

He laughed. "Oh, will I?"

Once done with the peas, he swiftly started washing the rice.

"Not as well. For any of us."

"Well there is only one way to find out!" He laughs, good mood well and truly restored.

"Aye. We need people like Alex, little though he likes it! Although I suspect he likes it more than he lets on."
