All trace of wariness goes, replaced with concern.
"Here, let me see?" He slides down the depression until he's next to Daeron - if he doesn't come, the patrol will double back, and Daeron obviously can't be moved right now.
Misery seeped into his broken body. He couldn't even get this right. Daeron didn't offer further protest when Beren slid down to join him. The man would find clear signs of battle, and his head pounded dully.
Beren sees that wince and frowns, worriedly, nudging Daeron lightly to check for obvious bleeding that he can patch.
"You have good instincts then, to make it back! We will have to get you back to court, I think. THe patrol I was with should be on their way to locate me by now."
The elf grit his teeth at the nudging but offered no protest, letting Beren poke and prod to see where he was most injured.
He latched onto the latter, accepting the chance for distraction. "Why were you on patrol?" Ignoring the praise and belief he'd intentionally tried to return on his own.
He binds up what he can bind and leaves the rest alone, sitting back on his heels after, watchful for anything else that might have gotten through the Fence.
"Would you believe I was bored." He says sheepishly. "Luthien will be cooing over Dior with their majesties for a while now. They will not miss me."
For all his faults, Daeron had managed to successfully drive the orcs and trolls away before stumbling into this depression.
He snorted before grimacing in pain. Ow. "I would." Beren had not been one to stand still for long, since he'd let himself come to know him. "The patrol will."
"They should already be on their way back." He agrees, but no reason to not be watchful, not when he has one wounded to care for.
"But yes, I grew restless, sitting in the palace. They are all very happy, and this way I get some exercise and may return in good spirits. You will like Dior, I think. Luthien has doubtless told him stories of you. He grows like a Man, but he looks like her."
He still felt it better if he was just left to die. But Beren had stated that wasn't an option, so he just had to bear up to the pain and humiliation of his return in this condition.
"As any child of hers should be." Old history that haunted his every breath, but Daeron tried to bury it back deep in the back of his mind. "If he gets your wanderlust, I hope it is tempered."
"So do I! And Luthien too, but as a babe he seems quite well mannered - for now, anyway. I am told that it gets harder the older they get." He says wryly.
"He is only just walking now - I imagine we will find out soon."

Basic first aid he can do, but not he hopes for the patrol to turn back swiftly, so they can get Daeron proper help.

Dark and fair and terribly beautiful.
